The FairfaxPortugal Street East, ManchesterOlympian and JV Partner AECOM Capital were granted planning permission by Manchester City Council on 16th January 2020 for the development of 488 high quality Build to Rent apartments at Portugal Street East, Manchester. The development will comprise of 23 and 29 storey towers, 5 minutes’ walk from Piccadilly train station and directly opposite the new proposed High Speed 2 terminal. Construction is expected to coincide with the delivery of other neighbouring schemes within the Portugal Street East Strategic Regeneration Framework and will see the area north of Piccadilly Station transformed with the key objective to deliver a pedestrian led, mixed-use regeneration, totalling around 2 million sq. ft.
