Olympian is pleased to announce the successful completion of the substructure and ground floor slab works at our St James Square development in Bristol, marking a significant construction milestone for the project. This represents the de-risking of the below ground element of the project and highlights the successful delivery of the demolition, enabling works, foundations, basement and ground floor slab on this complex city centre site.
The site team successfully overcame a number of technical and logistical challenges, including working within the constraints of a tight city centre site (bounded between a major arterial road and neighbouring properties) and the need to adapt foundation solutions in response to challenging ground conditions.
With the project now firmly out of the ground, focus has shifted to the construction of the concrete frames for the 28 storey PBSA and 18 storey Co-Living buildings, which are now progressing at pace. Once complete, the development will deliver 442 PBSA and 150 Co-Living beds in the heart of Bristol city centre.
We look forward to seeing both buildings continue to rise above the city skyline as the project progresses towards completion in 2028.
