Olympian Homes are proud to be supporting Rigo Homes who are providing much needed accommodation for military veterans in Wigan.
Rigo Homes was founded by Jaco Van Gas and his fiancé Kathryn Pringle. Jaco is an ex Parachute Regiment veteran who met Olympian Chairman Mark Slatter on the Walking With The Wounded attempt on Everest in 2012. He was severely wounded on tour in Afghanistan losing his left arm and sustaining substantial injuries to his legs and body. Jaco is an inspirational personality who has gone on to climb many of the worlds highest mountains and is also a Para Olympic Cyclist and will be going for gold this year representing GB in the Tokyo Olympics.
Olympian have provided funding to allow the conversion of a 4 bed terraced house to provide 6 rooms and amenity for veterans by Rigo and in collaboration with Wigan Council.
“We are very excited to be supporting housing projects in the North West, providing homes to veterans which is allowing them to enrol in courses and secure careers. We are trying to create the stepping stones for veterans to get settled into civilian lives by providing safe, high quality homes where they can receive all required support and get back on their feet. Rigo Homes are proud to be in partnership with Olympian Homes to truly change the lives of veterans and create opportunities for them and their families.” Jaco Van Gas.
Rigo and Olympian are now looking for additional sites for the next project.
